This month’s topic: This webinar will explore workflows using Surface Analysis Tools in Civil 3D, including the following:

  • Watersheds
  • Catchment Tool
  • Water Drop
  • Basin Calculator

This session will provide a tour through the surface analysis tools available via Civil 3D surface styles and properties, and from the surface contextual ribbon.  We will look at the tools found in the surface styles and properties that include watersheds, elevations and slope analysis, and user-defined contours and how to use them and why.  Next, we will look at and discuss the water drop, stage storage, volumes dashboard, and catchment area tools found on the contextual ribbon, and where these tools can be used.  Finally, we will discuss the remaining analysis tools on the contextual ribbon the visibility check tools, resolve crossing breaklines, check for contour problems, and minimum distance between surfaces and how you might use them.
