How to Decide Which Autodesk Viewer is for You

Do you share design files with non-Autodesk users who need to review your design for approval or buy-in?

You can find the right viewer using the table below and mapping your file type to the appropriate viewer. The best part… they are all free!  Check out the available Autodesk Viewers for your file of choice.  Unless you are working with Civil 3D 2017 files…

For those who need to view Civil 3D 2017 drawings, the free viewers above no longer work as they have in the past.  Because of the changes to Civil 3D objects,  2017 objects are no longer backwards compatible and you won’t be able to view them.

The solution for viewing Civil 3D 2017 drawings:

Install Civil Object Enabler 2017. This allows you  to see Civil objects outside the Autodesk AutoCAD Civil 3D 2017 environment.

For many users, that means you just load the Civil Object Enabler in your Trueview install.

Civil objects can also be enabled in the following Autodesk products: Autodesk AutoCAD 2017-based products, 3ds Max, Navisworks Manage, Navisworks Simulate, Autodesk Storm and Sanitary Analysis and Autodesk DWG TrueView.
