Autodesk Seek Content Now Hiding in the BIMobject Cloud
This blog post was originally written for the Managed Design blog. Managed Design is now a U.S. CAD company, so please check back here at www.uscad.com/blog for more written articles from Ryan Knutson and our new U.S. CAD Minnesota team.
Are you wondering where Autodesk Seek went? Well, don’t worry, it’s not gone – just moved. Last year, Autodesk appointed BIMobject, Inc. as its exclusive re-seller for new subscriptions of Autodesk Seek. This partnership included the transfer of content to the BIMobject Cloud.
All operations and customer support for Autodesk Seek now have transitioned over to BIMobject. As of January 18th 2017, users who try to access Autodesk Seek content from within Revit or AutoCAD will be redirected to BIMobject. If you haven’t accessed this site in the past, you will be greeted with a welcome screen. (If it doesn’t appear, clear your browser cookies and try again.)
Get up and Running Quickly
So now that you’ve found it, here are some simple steps to get you up and running quickly:
1. Create a BIMobject Account – Users will now need to create a free account with BIMobject to be able to download content. Once the account is verified, you can log in and access the user identification key which you will need to use the Apps from within Revit and AutoCAD. Create your BIMobject Account here.
2. Download and install the App – Based on the program you wish to access the content from, download either the Revit or the AutoCAD App.
Revit App – Installs as a Ribbon Tab
AutoCAD App – Installs on the Add-ins Tab
3. Sign In – Use the “Settings” button to sign from your selected Autodesk product. The BIMobject Sign In box should now appear. You will need to enter your User identification key. You can find this key if you log into your BIMobject account at bimobject.com. Select the User Information tab and your key will be listed near the bottom of the page. Copy and paste the key into the app and sign in.
Voilà, you are now able to browse and download the content from within a web browser or from within your Autodesk products!
